Collection
Have you been contacted by us and have questions? We have gathered all the information on this page, if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact the donor service.
We communicate regularly with our donors to inform them about Oxfam's work and show how their donations make a difference to people around the world. We do this by:
- Newsletters by e-mail and SMS
- Postal mailings.
On special occasions, you may receive, for example, an appeal on an issue, a request for an extra donation in the event of a disaster or, occasionally, a fundraising letter.
Updated information is always available on the web and in Oxfam Sweden's social media:
Usually your consent is registered within 5 working days. If the registration is completed three banking days before the 28th, your first monthly donation will be deducted the same month.
You can check the status of your Direct Debit via your online bank. You will also receive a welcome letter from us as soon as the authorisation has been activated. If you have any questions, please contact the donor service.
If you are a monthly donor via Autogiro, your donation will be deducted on the 28th of each month or the next following bank day. We make a total of four withdrawal attempts.
If you are a monthly donor via SMS, the gift will be deducted on the day you registered as a monthly donor.
Of course! You choose when you want your monthly giving to start. Contact the donor service and we'll arrange it right away.
Memorial gifts are given to honor the memory of someone who has passed away, often in conjunction with their funeral. The gift goes towards our work to fight inequality, injustice and poverty around the world.
For the memorial gift, you will receive a memorial sheet where you can write a personal message. The digital memorial sheet is then sent to the funeral home. You choose how much you want to give as a memorial gift.
To make a memorial gift, please contact our donor service.
If you want to start your own fundraiser in favor of Oxfam Sweden for a birthday or other type of event, you can contact our donor service. The donor service will then instruct you on how to easily create a QR code to allow your loved ones to give a gift to Oxfam.
You can make a one-off gift in several ways, choose the one that suits you best:
PlusGiro: 90 03 72-4
BankGiro: 900-3724
Swish: 900 37 24
SMS: To donate a gift by SMS, send the message OX100 (for 100 SEK), OX200 (for 200 SEK) or OX300 (for 300 SEK) to the number 72901.
Of course, you can also make a donation directly here on oxfam.se.
Your monthly gift is always used where our experts think it will do the most good. It's not possible to know exactly where your monthly donation has gone, but you can follow our work here on our website, in our mailings and on our social media.
In some disasters, it is possible to make a one-off donation earmarked for a specific country or project, in which case it will be clearly stated when you make your donation.
Of course! You can fill in yourself this form, or contact the donor service and we will arrange it.
Oxfam has been approved as a gift recipient by the Swedish Tax Agency since 24 June 2021. This means that donations from private individuals can form the basis for tax deductions. Read more here.

If you have a monthly payment via SMS, you will also find instructions in our SMS mailings.
Finance and Administration
Oxfam is a foundation, which means that we are independent of owners and members. The Foundation manages donations earmarked for Oxfam's work against poverty and injustice. The Foundation is managed by a Board of Trustees together with the Secretary General.
Oxfam's Board in Sweden shall always consist of at least 6 and at most 9 members and reflect diversity. When a new member is appointed, the board should prepare a profile that defines the skills required. New board members are appointed by Oxfam Novib in the Netherlands. Board members are elected for a three-year term, with the possibility of two re-elections.
The Secretary General of Oxfam in Sweden has a monthly salary of SEK 70 288. The salary is set by the Board, taking into account the responsibilities of the position. The Secretary General has no special pension benefits and is not covered by the Employment Protection Act.
Other employees are covered by the Akademikerförbund's collective agreement and have salaries in line with the sector.

Oxfam Sweden has a 90-account, which means that we are affiliated to, and controlled by, the Swedish Fundraising Control. Each year, a maximum of 25% of the funds raised goes to administration and fundraising costs in accordance with the rules for the 90-account.
The 90 account is a quality stamp for serious fundraising organisations that guarantees that fundraising is conducted in an ethically correct manner and that the funds collected are used for the intended purpose. The 90 account shows that the holder has met the requirements of the Swedish Fundraising Control. You can read more about the requirements and what they mean on the Swedish Fundraising Control website: http://www.insamlingskontroll.se/

Other issues
Oxfam Sweden is a fundraising foundation, which unfortunately means that according to Swedish law we are only allowed to accept financial donations. Therefore we are not able to accept furniture, gadgets, clothes etc.
I'm afraid not. Oxfam has second hand shops in other countries such as the UK.
