Our collaboration with Casseroll Food Truck

Food from Skåne that helps all over the world

A food truck with extra heart

In 2014, Kjell Peterson in Malmö contacted us at Oxfam with an idea. He wanted to start a food truck that would 1) Serve good and healthy food made from scratch, from good and natural ingredients 2) Raise money to fight hunger in the poorest parts of the world.

When he was choosing which organization to donate the money to, he discovered Oxfam. So since 2014, Kjell donates SEK 5 for every meal he sells to Oxfam Sweden, something we are extremely grateful for.

"I wanted to contribute in some way, and I wanted it to be directly linked to the food I cook and sell. So for every portion I sell, 5 SEK is donated. This is the average cost of a meal in the world's most vulnerable countries."

1. Local and healthy food

Casseroll Foodtruck only serves locally sourced food made from scratch. The raw materials may come from a maximum of 3 miles away and on the front of the truck there is a map with the places where the food comes from. The majority of the food is grown organically and Kjell often tests new recipes and ways to make the people of Skåne want to eat good and healthy food.

2) 5kr to Oxfam

A meal in the poorest parts of the world costs an average of SEK 5. Therefore, Casseroll Food Truck has chosen to donate SEK 5 to Oxfam Sweden for every meal sold. The receipt that customers receive thanks them for contributing to the fight against hunger. "The most common reaction I get is that people think it's so good. Many regular customers say that this is one of the reasons they come back," says Kjell. By May 2023, the Casseroll Food Truck had raised over SEK 150,000 for Oxfam.

150,000!

In May 2023, Kjell reached a milestone: he had raised over SEK 150 000 for Oxfam. As a thank you, we gave him a diploma.

"It feels really cool. It makes me very happy. It's nice to know that I've been useful, that it wasn't in vain."
