We draw the red line for Gaza!

On June 17, we will gather to draw the red line for Gaza and to get Sweden to act!

Demonstration for Gaza!

We draw the red line - Act now!

We are gathering for a demonstration in central Stockholm to raise our voices together and stand up for the people of Gaza. It is not only Sweden's moral obligation to act, but also a legal obligation under international law.

By wearing red, we are drawing a red line together to show that the line has long been crossed - and that we now demand action from the Swedish government. We walk together from Norra Bantorget to Gustav Adolfs Torg where we gather outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to read out ourour common demands, listen to speeches and music performances.

Date: Tues. June 17, 17.00-18.30. Assembly at 17.00. Departure 17.15.

Location: Assembly Norra Bantorget. Demonstration train to Gustaf Adolfs Torg.

What is expected: Dress in red clothes, bring family and friends.

Similar demonstrations with the message "We draw the red line" are currently taking place around the world. For example, the Netherlands drew a red line where 100,000 people gathered on May 18.

The event aims to show that there are many of us who stand up for international law and show solidarity with the people of Gaza. We are united in a common message by dressing in red to draw a red line together to show that the border has long been crossed. We therefore kindly ask you to leave your own signs, flags and banners at home this time. There will be placards with the common demands of the demonstration on site.

Together we show that there are many of us who demand that Sweden and the world act for Gaza - now!

The event will be filmed and photographed and the images will be used in external communications.

In Gaza, one of the worst humanitarian disasters of our time is unfolding and time is rapidly running out for the civilian population. Israel's warfare is killing civilians every day and the blockade continues, in violation of international law. Food supplies are empty, people are starving, disease is spreading and hospitals are turning into morgues.Gaza has been described as a graveyard for children. The Swedish government has a legal and moral responsibility to act.

What is happening is a moral collapse. We demand action from the Swedish government to ensure that international law and human rights are respected.

We demand that Sweden:

  • Promotes an immediate and lasting ceasefire

  • Calls for an end to the blockade of Gaza and full access to humanitarian aid

  • Resuming support to UNRWA

  • The EU, together with EU ends trade with Israel that may contribute to genocide and other serious violations of international law

  • Calls for international humanitarian law to be upheld by all parties

  • Calls for the civilian population in Gaza to be protected from indiscriminate attacks

  • Complies with the decisions of the international courts (ICJ and ICC) and the UN Security Council decisions

  • Demands the immediate and unconditional release of all civilians taken hostage or arbitrarily detained.
