Clémence Lagouardat, Oxfam's Humanitarian Coordinator in Gaza reacts to the Israeli attacks in Gaza:

"It is indefensible that Israel has violated the ceasefire agreement by conducting airstrikes on the Gaza Strip that killed over 300 people and injured hundreds. Targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure cannot be justified under any circumstances."
"The ceasefire was a small hope in the dark and should have been protected for the two million people trying to survive terrible conditions in Gaza and for the remaining Israeli hostages."
"Israeli officials have also ordered new evacuations in Gaza, forcing civilians who have already fled several times to flee again without a safe place to go. These forced displacement orders violate international law."
"The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire. At the beginning of the month, which was also the beginning of Ramadan, Israel completely besieged Gaza, cutting off access to food, fuel and all humanitarian aid. A week ago, they cut off power to Gaza's main functioning desalination system, which provided clean water to around half a million people. At the same time, Gaza's collapsing health system is struggling to cope with the ever-increasing number of deaths. Hospitals are short of supplies and ambulances cannot reach the injured."
"This crisis continues as a result of the international community's failure to hold Israel accountable for its violations of international law. This must end. International law is not optional or discretionary. It exists to protect civilians, everywhere, and must be universally upheld."
"All parties must now work to restore a permanent and sustainable ceasefire for all Palestinians and Israelis."
